The Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Jharkhand envisions becoming a nationally recognized Centre of Excellence for tribal research, policy innovation, indigenous knowledge systems, and cultural preservation, serving as the foremost knowledge institution for the holistic development of the Scheduled Tribes and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) of Jharkhand. The Institute aspires to generate evidence-based research for informed policy formulation, preserve and promote the rich linguistic and cultural heritage of tribal communities, document and revitalize endangered tribal languages, and integrate indigenous wisdom with modern science and technology. Through interdisciplinary research, digital innovation, artificial intelligence, capacity building, and strategic partnerships, TRI seeks to empower tribal communities, strengthen mother tongue-based multilingual education, promote sustainable livelihoods, and preserve traditional ecological knowledge.
